    RSR seat details questions

    Hi
we are in the process of restoring a RSR seat from an original IROC car. It has lap belt pass thru holes i have not seen before. Very simple oval cut outs on the sides.
the usual sub belt pass thru hole is there, but i need details on how the lap belt holes were finished off

    can anyone help please?

    thanks

Id like to know if this is a passenger side RSR bucket and if your seat is made from fiberglass cloth and roving [like this] instead of mat. Could you post photos of the seat? Any help is appreciated, Rick

Bingo! that is the real deal you have there. This is the second time we have seen a seat with the oval lap belt cut out like you have.
We have the correct clear rivets, cloth lay up, but with a difference: Instead of blocking off the head rest holes, we embed the tubes for the headrest. If not using headrests, then we cut off the exposed sections. Why? the heavy wall steel tubing we use imparts an extra degree of stiffness to the back of the seat. Also we go with several layers of cloth so the seat is inherently stronger.

Finally, we offer the choice of full aircraft rated safety foam or the "usual" automotive foam. Though pricier, the aircraft foam retains its construction longer, has more fire resistance, and is smoother over the long term.

I can post pics early next week
    thank you
