Maybe more driver than car? I still break out in a cold sweat thinking about that looming 90MPH slightly off-camber 'this-is-going-to-hurt' sweeper Jens and I suddenly found ourselves approaching in a certain 67S Astronaut car a few years back. Not too many 911 drivers would have had the finesse to gingerly back off the throttle while making some surgical steering corrections to keep that skinny-tired SWB from going assbackwards off the cliff.

    Fun stuff!

Yup Curt, brinksmanship. I remember not going off, not hurting anything, not hurting anyone. You know what they say about horseshoes and handgrenades.

I remember it best as getting the absolute most out of that skinny tire, 2 liter, short wheelbase, Slate Gray treasure. I think I peed my pants a little. I also remember fighting over the one seatbelt in the car.

The funny part is I don't think it even broke the conversation. It just sort of happened and we continued on

There are many varieties of gear head in this world, but there are none more fun to listen to, talk to, hang out with, and drive around with then the wonderful new friends I made at this years RIV.

Reading this thread brought it all home again, and I would just like to thank you all for having me along, It is filed away in the top tier of my gear head experiences.
