    FS: '68 Hot rod

    I built this a couple of years ago from a '68 Normal purchased out of the Gary Wigglesworth estate. Gary had taken a wasted very early '65 and put most of it's removable body parts and mechanicals onto the '68 chassis once new floors, front pan, and any necessary rust repairs were done. I didn't like the quality of some of the finished bodywork, so I took it all apart and had it professionally redone. Pulled the '65 motor and transmission, and proceeded to make a hot rod like it was back in the late '60s/early '70s: Newly freshened '69S motor w/ 2.2 S P&C's, sporty muffler, '70S 901 transmission, new lowered Koni suspension, new S brakes, Mini lite style wheels, and adjustable back Scheel seats from a CSL. The car has so many extras like 911R/914-6 GT looking steering wheel, 7,200 RPM tach, H4's, new headliner, mint dash top, new German carpet, vintage Porsche race belts... on and on. I sold the car to a great guy in Virginia and he flew down, drove it over to the vintage races at Sebring, and then back home up north. Always missed this car. The VA owner called me today and told me he's got to sell it. I am working on finishing a '69S, so I am in no position to buy it back at the moment. Someone else now has an excellent opportunity to get a great car from this fellow at a $38,900.00 price.     This car is just as fabulous as it was when you sold it in '08.

    There are a few cars that you remember from time to time as being solid worthwhile one of a kind deals. This is one. Sam Gassel's blue coupe was another.
