difference in euro and ROW hella 128

i will need to acquire a set of hella 128 , as mine were replaced by aftermarket ones

the car is a 68S SWT german delivery car

as i was reading there was a mention that the euro ones were different

they say that the reflector is yellow , do they mean the mirror inside is yellow and the lense clear or the lenase is yellow and the mirror is clear

I hae seen some for sale by some of our trusted vendors , like sierra, but they are all clear

once that clear , where can i find some

68 128s use a different lens but other details are the same as the repro 128s. I have a few spare used 68 lenses if you need some. Euro 128s used halogen bulbs, US cars Tungsten bulbs. The yellow reflectors for Euro cars have a translucent yellow paint over the reflector. Porsche did not supply 128s with yellow lenses as far as I know. You can probably use a Krylon yellow "stained glass" paint to make your reflectors yellow.

    Hella 128

    Freezing14,

Porsche has 4 part numbers for the Hella 128 used up thru 1968:

    644.631.201.03 (yup - a 356 part number)
Fog lamp, white glass and yellow reflector. Europe, for normal lamps.
    fits: 911, 911 S, 911 TU, 911 L Coupe, Targa SW

    644.631.201.04 (356 part number)
Fog lamp, white glass with white reflector. USA, for normal lamps.
    fits: 911, 911(USA) 911 TU, 911 L, 911 S, 911 L (USA) Coupe+Targa

****it is my interpretation that "normal lamps" is the tungsten bulb***

    901.631.201.00 (a 911 part number)
Fog lamp with white reflector for Halogen lamps, not for USA.
    fits: 911, 911 TU, 911 L, 911 S Coupe, Targa SW

    901.631.201.10
Fog lamp with yellow reflector for Halogen lamps, not for USA.
    fits: 911, 911 TU, 911 L, 911 S Coupe, Targa SW

The lens comes in two varieties:

    644.631.211.04 (fits the 201.04 lamp)

    901.631.211.02 ( fits the 201.00 lamp)

No mention of the lens being colored yellow - (wasn't that a French thing?).

    Lamps for comparison:

    The "B"unit is the Halogen - Euro/ROW

The "A" unit is the tungsten - Euro & USA bulb (Osram) with its brass colored cover/deflector that sits in front of the lamp. (we have no idea if this reflector was originally yellow or white - it is currently a rusty/fiberglass repair, wrapped in cigarette foil ??)
