    In the alps...

    Hi everybody!

    What to do if you
    a) live in the south of germany,
    b) have three days off the job and family and
    c) got a fresh, rebuilt motor?

........right - you do a nice little roadtrip with your buddy in two old cars and visit a long time notseen friend of yours!

So we started out between munich and the lake of constance and headed over the "Deutsche Alpenstraße" to Austria. First major layover was the "Klausenpass", famous for its hillclimbing events.

    the travel group

...time to introduce the travel group:

In the picture you see my buddy's '74 alfa berlina. He "forgot" to remove the stickers of the "Eifelrennen at the nürburgring" the week before, so you might imagine that the red one ist not bone stock at all.

The black one is my '71 targa equipped with a "new" 2.3 oldschool-modified engine (single plug, but ........).

    mountains and animals

....so we headed forward to altdorf and andermatt in switzerland (the paradise of mountain roads).

you see pictures of the "Furkapass", our new hairy friend and the view out of our hotel the first night on the so called rhone glacier.

A man's dinner (meat, red wine and spirits ) and the we got ready for day 2.

    best "car-driving-day" in my life

    ...got up early....

From morning to midday we did:

Grimselpass, Sustenpass, Sankt Gotthard, Tremola and Nufenen.

    Let the pictures speak ......

    more pictures and the end

after lunch we drove via Brig, Sierre, Sion, Martigny, Montreux to our friend in Lauseanne.

Same topics as on evening one.

The third day we took the highway home, because we had to watch germany winning against argentinia.

    The essence:
That's what having a car is all about. No matter how old, how powerfull or how shiny.

    Drive it !!!!!
