    Value opinion

Can you guys offer a value opinion on this early 911? '66 car produced in '65. Don't have a lot of details. Car has been with last owner for 15 years. Has not been started in 3-4 years. Obviously needs some rust work. Seems to be fairly complete. Thanks

    Please

Give us the VIN number and engine number and color number. Thanks.

I think it might be easier to ask the current value of the car in VG to EXC condition then try to figure what it would cost to bring it to that condition.

That is a very good point and a much better idea. Ok, so what are these cars worth in #1, 2 and 3 condition.

Allright, I'll bite. Looks like a 10-12K car if it's numbers matching, 8-10K if not. Lots of needs mechanical I bet, and that rust probably lurks all over. You could get that car for free, sink 30K into pretty easy, and end up with a 30K car.

I still like it though, nice and original.

I agree with this. Might bring more on eBay auction, might bring less. As (almost) always, a prospective buyer will be MUCH better off buying a better or restored car. However, lucky for you, many dream. Good luck.

You might want to call Ray over at VMR. That looks very similar to a car that was at his shop for a few months.

    1965 26 GTS ( sold to fund 911E restoration)
    1965 912 ( sold to pay for 26R head)

Thanks guys for the comments. The comments are definitely helping with the decision. I will call Ray today. I need to talk to him about my 912 also. The seller did mention that he had the car looked at by a local resto shop so it very well could be Ray. Thanks for the heads up.
