    The White Collection - redux

Has anyone looked at the 'on-line' auction for the remainder of the 'White Collection'?

    https://rmsothebys.com/en/home/lots/wc24

I spent some time there yesterday and am amazed at the lack of any information, apart from a couple of photographs, of any of the lots ... and in some photos it is impossible to see any meaningful information.

I know the first outing raised some spectacular (and highly surprising) prices, but I am confused as to why the auction house would care so little ... for example there is a set of four tyres, wrapped in clear cellophane, but no indication of the date code, etc.

What do you think? Am I wrong to expect some information?

I think the lack of effort from RM is due to the their perceived “low value” of the majority of the items. That said, most of the folks on this board (and the Bird) are probably licking their lips at picking up some valuable items (to them) for just a few bucks. Lot of lights, tool rolls, radios, manuals, jacks, etc that can probably be had for the price of cheap meal.

Good auction to load up if one has the space.

Sounds like you either pick up your items at a warehouse, or pay an outside contractor to pack and ship? Could get expensive.

I believe it’s all in Texas.

Apparently shipping will be very high. Asked for a quote with their prefered shipping partner on a lot with a few parts. Didn't get a firm quote but sounds like shipping would start in the hundreds of dollars.

Plus a 20% buyers premium on the hammer price. Fortunately, though, I live in Houston (one of the few times I can say that...)

I will say at least to me they are marketing the auction pretty hard. I bought a few posters in the first auction, and I get 2 email blasts about the auction each day from RM, the auction is most of the ads on my instagram, and they also called me to make sure I knew to register.
