    Left-overs

. . . "Versuch" usually had all kind of special equipments (engine, trans, etc.). Siffert 1971 2.2S had a 2.4lS prototype engine. Some 1965 "Versuch" cars had prototyp 911S 180hbp engines installed, two years before they came on market . . .
    Hey, Karim . . .

    Hmm . . . that’s a good point --- it seems Siffert had a lot of experience with/received several of Porsche’s Versuch 911s . . .

    1)67 911 ‘R,’ VIN = 118 99 004R

Anyway, in all this time, I’ve managed to keep just about everything that came w/took off The Nasty Car when I first bought her . . . ‘cept for two itsy-bitsy exceptions . . .

    1) Driver’s side outer rocker . . .
. . . which basically vaporized when it was removed, way back in NC . . . to the point where all that’s left are photos. Not a Huge Deal, there, I would think. Besides, I still have the right side one --- and it was perfect . . . see post #260 . . .

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ty-nine/page26

    2) The ‘S’ -spoilered front bumper . . .
Back when John Esposito was re-finishing The Nasty Car, I’d speculated that the bumper may’ve been replaced --- along w/ the left-front quarter . . . when we’d found that the car'd been shunted/repaired, at some point . . . and, so --- rather than hang on to yet another (expensive) piece of wall-art . . . I’d traded that bit for the stock/correct one that’s on her now

    And I know exactly where that 1st bumper went . . . .

Personally? . . . I sure-as-heck hope that 1059 did NOT have an ‘S’ bumper while Siffert had her . . . ‘cause --- if she did? . . . it could well be, as Karim pointed out --- maybe the First One Fitted (?) . . . like, ever

    GULP!

    And --- let's just say . . . getting it back? --- would be . . . . complicated . . .

    Double-GULP!

    More Left-overs . . .

Just dug out + put my hands on this stuff, again, last night --- after, like . . . . 3 years?

I was told this was more-commonly a Ferrari bit . . . and one o' the bells looks to be a bit bunged-up from a shunt. Blue?

That reminds me, where's my rear wiper? I'm guessing your planning on keeping that now

BTW, can you translate the rest of the hand written German in the Kardex?

    Sure, thing . . .

1st line reads: Versuch wrk au. 4.71
= Experimental Werks out Apr '71

2nd line: x Jo Siffert, Fribourg, Schweiz
= to Jo Siffert, Fribourg, Switzerland . . . + what I've been told may be the actual address of one of Siffert's 2 dealerships --- still checking

    Sorry 'bout that --- I just see 'Siffert' . . . . and kinda go into shock . . .

    . . . again!

    Trans:
its not "Versuch wrk au. 4.71".
    It rather means:
"verk. 4.71 an:" which means "verkauft 4.71 an:" meaning the car got sold in April 1971:
Experimental, sold april 71 to Jo Siffert...

    Adress:
As you stated, the street adress is in the suburb "1752 Villars-sur-Glane".
The other dealership was in the city of Fribourg, close to the train station. State of Fribourg/Freiburg, plates FR.

    Papers:
Interesting the Kardex lists no special equippment, no options, no accessories.
For his "Versuch"cars, the factory has usually more infos and they usually recorded everything on special report papers.
(engine change, trans change, color change, etc..), as you can see on other Ex-Siffert owned cars.
Since these cars received several modifications during their test phase, the kardex lists only the (final?) engine and trans. ID.

To get more, you might have to dig physicially in their archive at the museum in Stuttgart, like german author Aichele was able to do it (He also was able to get all infos and its "Versuch" history of 1964 proto 901 No-7 "Barbarrossa")
As an owner of this "Ex-Versuch / Ex Siffert" car, you shurely can. Good luck.

Oh, yes --- all the options are there . . . but as option codes . . .

Which brings up an interesting point . . . what kind of versuchen requires a high-end Blaupunkt?

    Yes-yes --- I agree!

I keep reading how The Museum has an archive of over 2 million photos (!). I'm hoping to find, not just more records --- especially what 1059 was used for, but . . .

. . . maybe even some Werk photos, too?
