Soft Window Targa

We are just restoring a 1966 Soft Window 911S Targa (Nov 1966) and we have to remanufacture the soft rear window, the tonneau and the tensioning hoops.

It looks as if it would be quite easy to make a kit to convert a hard window car and have more of an open top for the summer.

Easy? There are plenty of suppliers for the tops and tonneau. There are also a couple people selling the frame and tensioner kits. A search may save you time and money. Not sure how they handle the lower frame mounting tabs or the SWT specific inner Targa bar liner?

Contact freezing14 he has complete kits, he uses some original parts and the rest is copied directly for an original set-up

i do in deed make a kit , and i supply the 3 rear tabs when needed no additional charges

all the visible parts are either original parts or indistinguishable from the original , if you also need a window i buy it from one of the reknown outfit at a discount and pass it back on to you ( as i buy a lot of windows)


I am actually working on a web site or blog , that show all the parts , copies next to originals and how to, history , do i have a real softie,, etc
