Thread: My 912 (aka an inexpensive way to have an early Porsche)

The Dunlop highlights on the tires was a nice touch, but have you been checked for OCD?
It's really not my fault! Would you believe Dunlop had the nerve to stop making tires with raised white letters? What's a fellow (with obviously too much time on his hands) to do?

Besides, I gave Paul an extra set of decals because I figured he would have driven that set off the car by the time he got to Lime Rock. Time for another SWB drifting lesson I guess...

    Glad you liked it Jim.

    Friends:

Here's another light ivory 912, my '65. Bought it in 1968 and have driven it about 150,000 miles. Restored in 1988 (won its Parade concours class twice) and maintained since but well used in autocrosses and time trials. Suspension includes 22 and 27-mm torsion bars, stock sway bars, Bilsteins, 7x15 alloys with 50-series tires. Engine is 1,720 cc, otherwise stock, Bursch exhaust, stock AFMSX gears. With half a tank of gas (and without me) it weighs 2,050 lb, and on a tight track it can embarrass early 911s. Great bang for the buck!
