Looking for a vendor who does "period" belt/harness. I can't find his e-store. For example, he's listed a harness that has new webbing/straps w/period buckle and new "label" on shoulder straps....

Check out this guy. He can make harnesses any way you want. He has a Ebay store but I don't remember the name.

Wow, looks to be the real deal. Nice werk. Do you know how much they cost?

I needed to replace my daily driver belts that were all frayed and twisted and jamming constantly. I happened to find hundreds of feet of current military aircraft seatbelt webbing free at a yard sale; a silver/blue/gray color. I decided to do them myself. I spent $3.00 for the correct thread and about 2 hours to get them exactly back to new and they work perfectly. Very satisfying.

That is Bill's web site. He can make up anything your heart desires seat belt wise. A hell of a nice guy and timely to boot.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.

Tim: I would highly suggest that you limit your search to new belts and stay away from any old originals. When I was actively road racing, we replaced out belts a minimum of every two years. Time,UV light, hand grease, sweat etc can take a toll on them. Though you did not say for racing, there is always a potential for crashing at near to or actual racing speeds. You don't want an old belt breaking or stretching.
I really like Diest belts and use the 2 inch ones in my 356. I think the 2 inch belts are pretty retro looking and are made with safety in mind. Just my thoughts. FYI: http://www.deist.com/pub/DeistSafety_Catalog.pdf
