    '65 911 engine & trans - sn#901474

    I have for sale a complete engine and trans for a 65 911. Engine 901/01, sn#901474, build #1374.

    Trans is 902/1 date stamped 7/65 (5 spd AFMSX)

    Both should be considered cores. Engine spins over by hand. Includes single throat carbs, center-lube cams, early aluminum fan ring, original rocker covers, etc. missing one fresh air tube and the cross-bar carb linkage, but both of these may be in a box in storage.

    $4,500 obo. located in Ohio.

    Dave,

    What is what looks like an "8" in the middle of the engine number? Yes, I guess it is an 8 but why? Thanks.

    Hard to tell why that stamp is there, but the SN# matches up with the build # and it is for sure a '65 engine.

    Perhaps it was stamped if it was rebuilt at some time?
