    a new Old Book

I recently picked up a new book at the Partsheaven Concours and Swapmeet.

It's actually an old standby ( which I think ought to be a staple in every early Porsche aficionado's library ), and it is the 3rd Edition of Bruce Anderson's Porsche 911 Performance Handbook 1963 - 1998. but it is so much improved that it deserves to replace and / or supplement the first two editions on your bookshelves.

Published 2009, 304 pages, ( ISBN 978-0-7603-3180-4 ) List price is US $ 34.99, 19.99 quid in the UK, much better organized & containing much more relevant material than either previous edition, with a ton of new, clear, highly descriptive color photos, sketches and engineering details and lots of new information with well-written, understandable text.

It's the recent posts in the technical section about low oil pressure and various other familiar engine problems which prompted me to mention this book at this time. Most of the questions asked on this forum by newbies in the last few weeks are all answered in detail in this very readable and useful work. It's obvious Bruce has been listening to the early Porsche community and this version of his original book is his response.

    Highly recommended.
