Reprising this thread with a question:

The original fog light harness has an end that goes to the switch, an end that goes to the relay and fuse panel, and then a double brown ground wire coming out of the center.

Where does the ground wire connect to the chassis on an original car? Does it mate with the ground for the wiper motor and then connect to the single male brass faston tab on one of the wiper motor gearbox screws? Or does it connect some other way?

A detailed photo of this area would be a huge help!

Reviving this oldie. Are the Hazard switch Flasher ('can') available now for the early (68) cars? I suspect that these would not suit? http://www.sierramadrecollection.com...89-p19350.html

Merv, no, there were some replicas of the SWB can on the market years ago, but they sold out and I haven't seen them. Those red circular relays are for LWB cars and shorthoods (the red can has a quench diode across the contacts to limit back EMF)

You can follow my instructions and make an electrical equivalent out of FLAPS parts. . .

Thanks for that. I dismantled the existing can and checked it over and cleaned it. It does operate, but slowly, and I think it is permitting an unneeded ground somewhere, as when my indicators operate (they work fine), the same side parking lights also come on!

Anyone any ideas on this? Hazards don't seem to work on both sides (only the left), despite adjusting the contacts in the flasher and the unit itself seems to be working fine. Further, when the the indicators are on as in a normal turning sequence, the parking lamp on that side also comes (and stays) on?

Merv, it's the wiring in the car, double check all the grounds and the wires at the fuse box and at the ignition switch. Something somewhere is wrong.
