Hartmut @ North Hollywood Speedo will convert a non-S for about $120, or make an entire tach for $300. His work is excellent.

Original 69S tach is different to '70-'73 S tachs - it is held into dash by means of 2 clamps/brkts on the rear as opposed to the rubber 'interference fit' seal used on the later versions.
