    1971 Porsche 911E Coupe

    Vin# 9111200034

    Engine# 6210164

Original Color: Signal Orange code# 1414

    Fuch alloys – deep 6

    Bosch H1 headlights

    S trim

    S brakes w/aluminum calipers

    Front and Rear swaybars

    Blaupunkt AM/FM radio

    Tool Kit/Jack/Spare/manual

The 2.2 911E engine has a higher compression engine than the 2.4E and quicker acceleration from 0-60 than a comparable year 911S. This car is a 1971 911E non-sunroof coupe. Original color was Signal Orange - it is now more of a yellow color. Options include H1 head lights, Fuch Deep 15x6" wheels, alloy S brakes, S trim, Front and Rear swaybars, Leather wrapped steering wheel, Blaupunkt AM/FM, Very good door pockets and panels, Orange hood badge, tool kit and jack, aluminum lic panel. Rebuilt 911E 2.2L Mechanically Fuel Injected engine that runs very strong. Five speed transmission. Early '71 chassis #34 out of 1088 built with an early 911E engine #164 out of 1767 engines built.

The first owner stated that the car was bought new in Newport Beach California however there are limited records with the car so the complete history is not known. This car was bought by the 2nd owner in 2005 as a non running car. The second owner proceeded to install new tires, go through the brakes, and go through the engine to get the car back on the road. The car now runs and drives well but needs further cosmetic restoration. This car is a driver condition car with all the right stuff, good options and parts. The current paint looks good from a few feet away but it is an older low cost paint job that should be considered to be redone. The interior is very original but it needs some things. The most expensive items in the interior, the door pockets, are in good condition and no major parts are missing. Headliner, carpet, dash all need work. Cosmetically this car suffers a little but mechanically it is impressive. The car drives well - Very good power, nice handling car.

The engine has just been gone through 500 miles ago. Machine work included for case: fully clean all parts, oil bypass mod, case saver inserts, resize rods, polish crank, clean and pressure test oil cooler. Head machine work: clean/sandblast, install new guides as needed, valve job, and resurface. New parts: Main bearings, Rod bearings, gaskets, oil return tubes, timing chains and ramps, 4 rib oil pump, oil hoses, belts, spark plugs, all filters. Original Mahle pistons and cylinders were in spec so the cylinders were honed and new rings installed on the pistons. The 1st owner had paid to have the mechanical injection rebuilt at some time in the past; all injection parts were cleaned and reused for this engine build. The engine has excellent power throughout the range just as an E should, it could probably use further tuning to help the injection during cold starts.

The body of this car is very solid. The floor pans have no rust. The front suspension pan seems very solid. The only rust hole that can be found on the exterior or underside of the car is in the front passenger rocker panel, which was believed to be cause by the hole left from a long since removed dealers A/C system (look at pictures). The exterior body does have a few small bubbles in the paint here and there from bad bodywork but all of that would be taken care of during a new paint job.

All in all this is a very nice start to a very serious vintage Porsche 911. Values of the 911S cars have skyrocketed above most budgets, the 911E is the same exact car with a little less compression, slightly tamer camshafts but the same awesome sounding powerful mechanical fuel injection. Values of the 911E are sure to pick up in the next few years. Currently fully restored 911Es are bringing $50-65k so after a restoration the owner of this car will still be in it right.

    Anyone Look In Person??

Hey guys, this looks to be a pretty clean E, and is advertised as a numbers matching car, but seems to be sitting for quite a while. I was wondering if anyone knew about this car personally or has gone to look at this car. Before I go for a PPI, I thought I would see what the community knows about it. Thanks for any input you have....

Yea, this seems to be what I recall after talking to the guy some time ago. Although, I didn't see anywhere where it stated that it was a matching numbers car like the OP stated? The ad seems to leave it up to your imagination on this point.

I remember this car coming from Hawaii with sport seats. I could be wrong. Love this color.
