Belated car introduction to the forums

Although I joined the Registry several months ago, I have never formally introduced myself or my current 911. It was sometime before I discovered one did not have to own an early "S" to join or I would have become a member earlier. I have been a Porsche owner and PCA member since '77, and since that time have owned a 356, several 914s, more 911s than I can remember, and a couple of 930s (one of these a slope-nose), and one 996. The current Porsche stable consists only of a '73.5 RS look, formerly a "T". I acquired this car with it's current body work and paint, so I'm not personally responsible for it's outward appearance.

Since I bought the car in an already modified state, I felt justified in tweaking the mechanicals as well. The original 2.4 liter was well-worn, and so I replaced it (with an accidentally discovered, factory option) 3.1 liter 6 along with a front fender mounted Carrera cooler. Other mods include raised spindle front Bilstein struts with '84 Carrera front calipers and rotors, aluminum front cross-member, and aluminum trailing arms, . Interior mods include later 911 seats with self-made lowering brackets, RS style door panels and door pulls, and a lightweight RS carpet set. Instrument gauges have been changed to the later style without the silver center "button", as the mechanical speedo had to go due to the swapout of the early transmission for an aluminum 8:31 with electronic speedo drive. The remainder of the gauges were also swapped out for the later "buttonless" style dash gauges since they were readily available.

Wheels are Fuchs 7 x 16s in front and 8 x 16s in the rear.
