Yes, a great looking car and a very potent V8 lump back there.

On coincidence, this story appeared in my inbox this morning:

Autoweek got to drive it. Sounds like fun. Shorter, lighter, more powerful Ferrari 430 Stradale. Or they can use a 458 if you want.

Will they actually race it like a real Stratos? Or is this designed for the Cars & Coffee aficionado?

If you comission one for $700,000+ you can do whatever you dang well want. Racing, rally, q-tipping.

It is just nice to know such machines exist.

    Based on the Ferrari 430?

Sounds like outdated technology to me.

Even if I could afford it I'd still stick with my evolutionary Porsches as opposed to the revolutionary "kit cars", thank you very much.

This new Stratos doesn't move me like the original...

Well, they say that any other cars they build will be based on the Ferrari 458 do to the short supply of 430 Stradales. Lets hope they don't spontaneously combust.

I think it is more meant as a 964RS to compliment, rather than replace, your early 911S.

As a Lancia fanatic, I am not sure I understand why I would spend $700k for a modern day "tribute" when I can get the real deal for cheaper. Even if it is a Stradale - Actually I would prefer that. You can get an awesome Aurelia Convertible for the left over money, or a Flaminia Sport series 1 or a Mille Miglia Aurelia GT or ... fill in almost any other of your favorite Lancia ...

That's an excellent point Mike. I'd take this original and enough spare change left over for an early 911S or 2 for sure.
