WTB: Original or Copy of 1967 Accessories Catalog

My '67 has a number of factory options installed and I want to be able to prove to CCCA judges that they are indeed factory options. Things such as: 100 liter fuel tank, outside temperature thermometer, rear wiper, nudge bar, performance sports seats, factory roll bar, etc.

I would love to buy an original 1967 Accessories/Options catalog or would gladly pay for someone to make a photocopy.

    Thanks,
    John Audette

    John,

There are two for printed in 66. The W12 and the W191.

I can compare them for you and send pictures of the pages of the brochure which is appropriate for your car. Or may be post them in this thread?

    Richard...

    Thank you for your response!

I'm showing my '67 at the Palos Verdes Concours in mid-September and I understand that the judging, done under CCCA guidelines, heavily emphasizes authenticity. When in doubt you have to show documentation that the part in question was offered by the factory. I don't know which of your publications would be best. As you are probably aware, I have built my '67 into a rally car using the specifications in the 1968 Sports Purpose Bulletin. I have the following parts that I would like to document as being offered by the factory:

o Performance seats: race bucket for driver, performance sport seat for navigator
    o under-carriage skid plates
    o H-1 headlights
o hood mounted Cibies (I don't know if these were an official option, but I do know that the factory used them on the rally cars that they produced)
o through-the-grille Bosch fog lights and grilles
    o navigator map light
    o 911R dead pedal
    o 911R 7" wheels on rear
o 6" wheels on front ("deep 6's" with hearts)
    o 100 liter fuel tank
    o Rear wiper
    o Hood hold-down straps
    o outside temperature gauge
    o Factory correct roll bar
o Front mounted oil cooler (??)

Thanks again for your help - I really appreciate it.

    Best Regards,
    John

    Hi John

I will follow up at my earliest convenience but a few options (esp. the R options) are not listed in either. You might need to get a copy of 68 too. The options could have been available prior to the print date and therefore correct for your car.

Only five of your options are noted in the standard 1968 US/ROW accessories catalogue (printed november 1967).

    100l/26gal. fuel tank, option 9499, part 901.201,010.30
    Trough-the-grill, option 9420
Outside thermometer (Fahrenheit), option 9168, part 644.741.601.07
Rear wiper, option 9290, part 901.628.910.00
Passenger side Recaro seat, option 9389

I beleive you would need the 1968 sports purpose bulletin do document the others.

I have the really hard to find 68 accessories manual, seems to be more of the 66 and 67 version around but this is the only 68 version I have ever seen. Has other options not found in the earlier books such as sports seats and TTG driving lights. I have scanned images but I won't sell the book.

I to have a 1968 brochure which I might consider trading for a 1967 brochure.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

I think I have an extra 67, would be interested in trading if it's not getting in the way of what John is asking for. I'm at work, will check tonight.

You guys are fantastic! Here's what I have been able to document so far:

1967 Porsche 911 Coupe - Factory Spec Build Rally Car - VIN: 306607

Factory Options as listed in the publication “Information Regarding PORSCHE Vehicles Used for Sports Purposes”

    Rally Kit #9552
    • Recaro racing seats – The driver and passenger seats are replaced by competition or bucket seats.
    • Rubber floor mats in place of carpeting
    • Special foot rest for driver (9563 / 901.501.825.00)
    • Stabilizer bars
    • Koni shock absorbers
    • Dunlop SP tires
    • Oil level and oil pressure gauge as in 911S
    • Deletion of front bumper “supports”

    Additional Rally Options
    • 9499 (901.201.010.30) - 100 liter fuel tank
    • 9182 – Map reading light for passenger
    • 9561 (901.201.081.00) – Stone guard for steering unit and fuel tank
    • 9562 (901.385.035.00) – Stone guard for engine crankcase and gearbox
    • Additional lights are permitted if the total number of 6 is not exceeded (parking lights not included)
    • 9535 (901.803.021.21) – Rollbar
    • For rallies and hillclimbs an additional oil heat exchanger can be installed on all types under the front fender
    • Rims: For use in competition we recommend for safety and weight saving reasons the mounting of forged alloy rims. They are available in the following sizes: 4 ˝”, 5 ˝”, 6”, 7”
    • o 6” rims (901.361.012.03) – Racing tires up to size 5.50 M-15 can be mounted on the 6” rim
    • o 7” rims (901.361.012.05) – The 7” rim has been homologated and approved for use on the rear wheels. 5.50 M-15 can be mounted on the 7” rims

Rally Options as listed in the publication “For the Competition Driver”
    • 9499 (901.201.010.30) - 100 liter fuel tank
    • 9182 – Map reading light for passenger
    • 9561 (901.201.081.00) – Stone guard for steering unit and fuel tank
    • 9562 (901.385.035.00) – Stone guard for engine crankcase and gearbox

Other Options as listed in the publication “1968 US/ROW Accessories Catalogue”
    • 9420 – Grilles for through-the-grille fog lights
    • 9283 (901.612.901.00) – Through-the-grille lights
    • 9168 (644.741.601.07) – Outside temperature thermometer
    • 9290 (901.628.910.00) - Rear wiper

    Source: 1968 US/ROW Accessories Catalogue
    Publication 11.67

As I mentioned I'm just trying to document that I built my car using authentic Porsche components and this list documents just about everything! I suppose I will have to justify the Cibies, but I do have a picture of the four red rally cars prepared at the factory in 1968 lined up outside the factory in Zuffenhausen.

Thanks very, very much for all the help. In addition to what has been posted here I also have hard copies and actual manuals on the way.
