Thread: SWB grey headliner

    SWB grey headliner

Does anyone sell a headliner for SWB 911 in the proper light grey color?

  2. #2
I didnt think so. With a myriad of Porsche interior specialists supplying "authentic" interiors no one has thought to sell a proper headliner to SWB 911-912 owners. I sent a sample to a Brooklyn supplier who told me it was old and dirty and originals arent grey. I guess we have to spray paint new ivory headliners

Are original 1966 headliners grey? I thought they were ivory colored.

I'm pretty certain this headliner from a 1966 912 is original and it looked very much ivory:

    Headliners

I think our 'friend' in Brooklyn sells Beige and Black only.

There seem to be several German Vinyls with the correct pattern and they have the following catalogue names:

Beige - which I think is darker than 'Ivory'

White - Which I think is for later cars

Off White - Which I think is the correct colour for 'Ivory'

    Black

    And Finally

    Grey

I have just bought a roll of Off White and Black and can buy Grey by the metre if this helps.

Dr. Brett describes the SWB headliner as grey. The grey german vinyl is too dark for SWB 911s. Is the german beige the correct color for SWB? Is Autos Int. "off white" a good match?

I've heard Germans translating ivory into "beige" in the past, so it's very much possible.

My point is that I cant find a supplier that distinguishes between SWB and LWB headliners. They are different and need to be described and sold as different.

There is an old thread on here about this which I can't seem to find at the moment.
There was some discussion on that thread about the hole pattern and hole size/spacing which has two different versions, diamond pattern holes and square pattern.

    I will keep looking.
