    FS: 1968 912 Engine

    For sale - engine from a 1966 912, but the engine number is a 1968, I believe. Engine Number *4095564*.

    The engine is almost complete - missing the distributor and carburetors, fan belt is loose because shims were removed for some reason. This engine was in a restored car that was on a trailer, trailer became disconnected and rolled.

    The engine was removed and installed in another 912, oil changed and run. After smoking a bit (from being upside down) it cleared out and ran very well (better than the original one he had in his car, admitedly worn).

    It has a Bursch (I believe) 4-into-1 header, Weber/Dellorto intake manifolds.

    I am asking $2500 for the engine as it sits. I can pallet/crate it to be delivered truck freight, and at least help with transport, but ultimately, shipping will be at the expense of the buyer.

    I was informed that this is a 1969 engine - meaning no air pump and less stress on the cylinder heads. Let me know if you have any questions.
