    dash

    Hello,
Would this dash fit a '70? Also do you know if it's an original part?
    Thanks tom

I'm sure it would although you should ask someone who would know if a '70 and a '73 are that different. My guess is this is a replaced dash but not the newer ones that don't fit correct;y. I'm told a lot of guys put speakers in the doors and used a speaker delete when updating the car.

no idea. It was in my '73 911 before I replaced it with an original dash with a speaker grill

This looks like the dash top I have in my '73...

I replaced my original in '90 when there were very few OE 'speaker' dashes around. If I remember, OE speaker dashes were about $1100 THEN. So, I went for one the two readily available factory replacements for about $600. One was the plane dash you see here, and the other option was a 'perforated' (like an SC) in early configuration. I went for the plane one......... and still have it my car today.
The up-side of this is that when they were doing these plane/perforated factory replacements from the late 80's through the early 2000's the fit was perfect.

    Hope this helps

There was one fitted in the black RS-engined Targa I bought from Kurt Zimmerman a few years ago - I liked it.

Had one of these in my '72 hot rod. I have been informed it is a '76 dash -- one year only. I like them because they eliminate the skinny part between the speaker grille and defroster opening that is subject to splitting. I've also heard them called an "RS dash" because one would suppose a lightweight RS wouldn't have a speaker grille opening. But I haven't been fortunate enough (so far) to own a lightweight RS to find out what dash was used.

Any item that has RS attached to it gets expensive...except for my dash thats
for sale. Thanks for the input on year and so forth.

Still for sale. PM an offer. I had it sold for $700 and an offer of $600 previus to the former selling price.

I'd like to sell this weekend.
