It was in the Russo Steele Monterey auction and was bid to a no sale at $92.5K. Auctions are funny, the Signal Orange 2.2S sold for $115K and this car wasn't bid up close to that price.

Would be a strong price for a SWB S in today's market. No?

Speaking of which CarPlanet (Steve Watson) had a very nice original paint 911 normal. Does anyone know what it went for..the auction venue may have been different but it was for auction (I could search it) but I'm feeling lazy. Thanks

PS Remember the original paint 911S Targa, '67 that sold for ~$110k from CarPlanet two years ago, more or less?

I had a long look at the S at Russo and Steele. bad panel fit, especially the front hood, fake sport seats and fantastic paint. Truely lipstick on a pig!

This '67 has been around for a long time. Uneven paint and who knows whatelse. Sorry to be so critical, but the market is wacky right now. Great auction prices for junk and like pulling teeth unless a fantastic car in the retail market.

This is across the board in 356, 911 and 912. No history, no matching numbers, no way!

    Is this car for real?

It showed up on E-Bay, but the pictures now show it without the decals along the underside. Does anyone know if it really has won the unrestored category at Porsche Concours?

It is very possible that it does win it's class at a Porsche Concours. I've won one in my 912 which is a driver. There are plenty of car shows out there to win. Whether it won at the Parade is another question.

I saw this car in Tucson and I think the concours event was in Phoenix.Right front had bad panel fit.Suspect fender replacement. It was a Stoddard car with silver metal air intake when I saw it.Apparently for sale in more than one place. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...item3f04a4f907
