electric Fuel pump for MFi mounted

Anyone have pics showing where and how the electric fuel pump is bolted onto the chassis for year 1970? Thanks!

    Pump location

This is what I found. However is there a bracket where the pump strapped in some fashion.

Guess you got what you needed from Grady. Attaching a few more pics. I forgot to take a picture, but think I remember there was a small bracket behind the pump.

Grady: Is that a replacement pump you have used??

    Carlo,

One error the above installation has; the pump is mounted to the tub sheet metal. This makes for an obnoxious ‘buzz’ all the time.

With a steel front cross member, the ’69-’70 pump mount clamps onto the front cross member tube. This is the best, least invasive mod. I suspect those parts are difficult to find.

A good solution is to weld two tabs on the steel tube for the rear pump mount (’71-’75). This mount is commonly thrown away so there should be many available ‘almost free’.

This allows you to use the rubber vibration isolators while keeping it easy to service the pump and hoses.

With the aluminum cross member (’74->), there is more room. There is enough room for an aluminum in-line filter. This keeps more of the fuel components in this nice cool location. The fuel pump (and filter) must have vibration isolation to mute the noise. The pump and filter can use the above mount. Be sure to add a small braided ground strap around the rubber pump isolators to prevent RFI.

Please post the Pelican links you used.

    Best,
    Grady
