Hi Clyde,
I am running 225/50/15 on 7r's at the rear with 10mm spacers and specially made low clearance eccentric bolts. They just fit. just...
FYI the fronts are 205/50/15 and they look a little too big (i.e. too wide) on the deep 6's.
These are Bridgestone RE55S which i believe are rather big for their stated size. I suspect someone here can comment? Really fun tyres in any case...
Once i wear through these I will go back to 205/60/15 rear with a 13mm spacer, which fit fine. I will try the 10mm spacer with these first as it is a slip on, not a bolt on spacer like the 13mm. These tyres were a street bridgestone, a GIII I think?
I will try the new (for us down here) Dunlop Star Spec which come in 195/55/15 & 205/60/15.
The 225's were not an easy fit for my stock bodied LWB 69, (fender lips are rolled - still stock size - & just under two degrees of neg camber)
Tyre brand may have a big impact on clearance & fitment?
Your experience may vary, of course. Others here seem to have had less issues.
good luck.

I'm running Advan AO408 205/50/15front and rear on deep 6 hearts on a stock 69S currently.
I was hoping to use a 10 - 12mm spacer on existing studs for a 225/50/15 Advan on the rear and leave the front the same tyre as now as I also acquired newly refinished deep 6 hearts to match the 7R rears.
Tyres currently don't look big on the wheels so maybe it will all still work

On my silver 911R-inspired car I had 205/55 (F) on deep sixes & 225/50 (R) on 7R-spec wheels.
The car was based on a '72 shell with 'rolled' rear arches & 15mm spacers on the rear - no rubbing.

I'm running 225/50-15 Bridgestone SO3s (NLA) on 7Rs in the rear of my '72S. 15mm spacer on longer studs, spring bolt shaved down, 21/27 torsion bars, 18mm sway bars, Koni shocks. On the front are 205/55-15 SO3s on deep 6s.
