Just posted a little pre-Iran update from Hayden on the Classic Porsche Blog and on the WEVO Blog if anyone's interested in keeping up with what's happening.

It's a challenge to gather the content for this one, as they are at the other end of the Internet scope: 15 mins to upload a pic etc. and neither of them have the patience for a 15 minute upload! Thank the inventor of SMS for keeping us in the picture.

Well the duo in the Aston Martin DB5 are doing their best on that front!

Just updated the Classic Porsche Blog and WEVO blog, with a post-Iran guesstimate while awaiting more news from Steven and Hayden. Few pics:

Entering Iran behind a Sunbeam Alpine:

    Porsche babe magnet:

Alan Klingen's very nicely boxed rear arms to Hayden's spec, versus the 2:30am-in-the-desert, bush mechanic jobs:

Hayden changes the generator for one flown in from Turkey (things can't be bad if he is smiling this easily):

We have made it to France! Arrive Paris Place Vendome midday Saturday (knock wood!). Car is a champ - probably the only one on the rally that could turn around and head back to Kazakstan tomorrow! Currently fourth in class (behind the A team - Adrian + Andrew in the Aston) and fifth overall out of 107 starting, 86 finishing. Current Gold status: completed all routes, timed sections, and hit all controls. Hayden did a brilliant job of preparing the car + navigating. Especially useful were full skid plates - I think we regraded half of Mongolia!

Congrads Steve on even finishing that difficult route. Cant wait to see and hear all about it. A friend of mine did that run last year in a 50's Bentley MK VI and his co driver quit in the china desert! He had to have a replacement navagator fly in to replace him. Now his car is completely apart for its 2nd full restoration since that grueling and punishing run you just completed. Again Congrads!
