    Smile FS: NEW GT3 rods

New GT3 spec rods, custom made by R&R. These are their Pro Billet E4340AQ Billet Chromoly Steel H-Beam rods.

    • 130mm length
    • 52mm rod journal

Asking $1450 shipped in the USA ($200 cheaper than LN sells them and no wait, as these must be custom ordered)

I am selling these as I bought a turnkey motor, so am parting out the pieces I no longer need from the motor I was going to build.

I purchased these from LN Engineering last year...see more here.

Here's a picture from when I was weighing them:

All six look identical to this sample picture:

Here are the weights and sum of the weight-matched assemblies (in g):

    Rods Pins Total
    538.1 109.1 647.2
    538.6 109.0 647.6
    539.1 109.0 648.1
    539.1 109.1 648.2
    539.1 109.1 648.2
    539.2 108.9 648.1

Less than a gram difference across the weight matched assemblies...piston variance will likely help dial this in even better.

    Hi Kenik,

I am very interested in these and just need to check something. I will be in touch later today.

    Thanks, Alan.

Also haven't gotten around to posting the crank for these. It is a 66mm counterweighted crank that was sent to Marine Crankshaft and modified for these rods. It had the journals reground to GT3/SC rod journals, keeping the 66mm stroke and 130mm rod length, as well aas the proper fillet radius. The crank was also cross drilled, the center main was grooved (no need to groove the bearing), the plugs were removed, the crank was micropolished, then nitride rehardened after which the crank was flushed and plugs reinstalled.

This crank was done the right way.

I'll post pics later and possibly start another ad/thread. I'd be looking for $700 + shipping for the crank, but after thinking about it, would let the rods and crank go at a package price.

    Thanks!

Oliver, the crank is not yet spoken for. Here are pictures I took this morning of the crank, still in its plastic bag. I have only opened it once:

Here's a picture of one of my actual rods in detail, to complement the stock photo above:
