    Headlight Wiring Harness Help

The headlight wiring harness has the rubber through the body "grommet" (for lack of a better term) that mounts into each of the headlight buckets. The wires pass through this and it essentially holds them neatly in place and prevents moisture and debris from entering the bucket. Is this special grommet replaceable? My guess is not and when one is damaged beyond repair, you have to purchase a replacement harness with one built in.

There are several other of these snap in grommets that are used around the chassis. What are your experiences in removing and replacing them? Hard to do? Technique? Thanks for the help.

    Headlight Wiring Harness Help

I go to my local friendly ACE hdw. store and pick from their grommet selection and find one as close as I can, then cut it with a sharp razor blade, slip it around the harness, and when pulled into the mounting hole the slit will virtually disappear. Use of something like Wurth clear silicone paste on the grommet greatly helps it to slip in.
