    Bad Clutch or something else?

I have a '67 911 Targa, restored 6 years ago, and driven less than 200 miles annually since then. When driving in 3rd/4th gear, and pressing the gas, the RPM's rev high, but doesn't translate into going any faster. Wondering if this could be a clutch-cable issue...or the entire clutch needs replacing? Any experience with a similar scenario?

Lets hope you used the correct clutch disc; the 69S disc is thinner than the rest of the 2.0 clutches, I have doubts that it would work at all, but who knows. The other thing is whether the flywheel was properly refinished; if the working surface is machined then the mounting surface for the pressure plate must also be machined to the correct height. Even if the working surface was not machined, but worn evenly, the mounting surface has to be checked to ensure the proper height.

Tell us more about this 67 you have please.

    Appreciate the feedback, gents.

I bought the car from a friend of mine 8 years ago. He restored it and sold it to me as he wanted to tinker-around with some of his other cars (356, Jag). The car is virtually flawless. The restoration remains true to it's original specs, except for Fuch wheels and Weber carbs, which he added.
