    Here is my new bet:
Renault Mégane 3 R.S. (Renault Sport).

This is a 2011 model, one of the last 250 hp.
Later models are 265 and 275 hp.
In a sub 1400 kg hatchback, that is appropriate to loose your driving licence quickly.

    Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX . . .

    . . . the EVO's daddy . . .
    https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...l=1#post483583

    And GSX = AWD . . .

    . . . and yes . . . same engine as the EVO

    Hubba-hubba

Another '90s car that's just about impossible to find stock --- if you can find one at all. No reliable production numbers but I've only ever seen a handful --- and that was decades, ago . . . when they were new. 'Tuners' (and Teens?) pretty-much chewed through any available stock decades ago.
Fast & Furious had a pantomime dressed-up for the movie (it's an automatic and not even a GSX) . . . but Real Deal cars are very few

And all I can say is anything an EVO can do --- can get stuffed into an Eclipse

An alternative would be the domestic twin --- the Eagle Talon TSi

Regardless, two generations of either --- and not all were good looking (some were down-right gruesome) . . . definitely a niche car

But-hey!, if Turbo Supra prices seen stupid, well? --- stuff 500 hp into an Eclipse . . .

. . . then see who turns up

For me in a sporty car it would be one of two. A 1966 Ferrari 206SP or a custom Merc 300SL. Now for something a little more reasonably priced at over a million less, I would like to find a perfect low mileage 1992 to 1995 5 speed manual Isuzu Trooper. We put over 300,000 miles on a 95 and it was by far the most reliable car we've ever owned.

    Porsche 968 Club Sport

    Built from '92 to '95

Not importable here, originally, these are now past our 25-year DoT restrictions, so --- kind of available . . .

Not a big 968 fan --- I hear they're not fun to work on (and Sabine Schmidt famously called it a great 'housewife's car) . . . but these CSs 've always looked like something fun to run around in

From the 'less is more' school of car design

    Some sales for reference . . .

    Porsche 987 Boxster Spyder . . .

. . . not a fan o' these, but --- as the economy dips into recession, next year . . . if ya care to make a little coin with your dumb-ass 401k

Still an atmo 6 with an honest-to-(your deity, here) manual trans, these dandy little prance-wagons are trading nicely above their original stickers. Styling is kinda meh (IMO), and that g-string-for-a-top thing feels like the Porsche Guys got juuuuuust a little carried-away with the cost-cutting

Supposed to be a sharp driver. Then/again --- from some o' the transactions I've seen? . . . no one 's exactly been in any hurry to use these, seems, so . . .

Any Alfa Romeo Guilia up to 73 that can is be bought for under $10k-Now that GTV's are 40-75k-these little sedans have such a great road feel for a 60's car. They are still out there.

2013-2015 Porsche cayenne Turbo Diesel-with the warranty repairs covered for 10 years from purchase date in the Dieselgate scandal, these can be bought for 30k, get 30mpg and tow up to 8,000 lbs. 675 miles on a tank of gas.

    Porsche Sport Turismo . . .

. . . going outta production --- according to my latest issue of Pano

    I love wagons . . . roomy + zoomy

But, seems most people don't. Rather have a 3-ton SUV, I guess (Snort!)

Anyway --- not sure how many of these got built, but can't be many

    Think I've seen, like . . . one?

And as long as no one wants 'em . . . maybe you can get one cheap? For now, anyway

So --- for anyone juuuuust a bit over the whole SUV-thing, why not go out get yo' self a Sport Turismo?

Crazier the color, the better --- if you ask me. Even orange, if you like

    Make mine Mamba!

The funny part of that was the Corvette (GM) folks wouldn't let you near the "Plastic Fantastic" while the Ferrari hosts were very pleased to let you
get close, sit in it and poke around.
