    SWB locking steering wheel option?

Can anyone tell me if swb 911's had a locking steering wheel option? Specifically, 67.

    Thank you,
    Jim

Is this option also on your kardex or COA or do you know the option code?

It does not show on my COA because it was a standard feature for 1968 on cars sold to Italy.

By the way: does anybody know where to scource key blanks for this configuration (1968 with locking wheel)?

I would try Tony Euganeo, at LockandKeyID.com

Thank you Anatol. My 67 911 has locking steering, but as yours doesn't list it on the COA. I wonder if this was specifically for Euro cars? Unfortunately, I don't have the history from day one, so I don't know if my car was a Euro delivery.

    Thank you,
    Jim

    Hi,

In case it helps we have both a RHD 67 and RHD 68 in the workshop and both do not have steering locks.

    Alan,

Yes, it's making me believe my 911 was a European model.

    Thank you,

In the 1965 Owners manual the only instruction for ignition is the 4 to the right key movement. This is the locking ignition. Ignition Part number ends in .00 .

1967 Owners manual has instruction for the locking ignition (as above) and also the 1 to the left and 2 to the right key movement - Non locking ignition. Part number ends in .10 .

The locking ignition has the 5 pin lock and the longer key, the non-locking ignition has the 4 pin shorter key.

Either was available but some countries import reg's required non locking - if i remember correctly the USA was a non locking.

Ask Tony Euganeo about the key length and the door lock type. There are two, "K" and another one.
