    November 2010 will mark 30 years since Steve McQueen’s untimely passing at age 50. Jules Verne Festival
    creators Jean-Christophe Jeauffre and Frédéric Dieudonné (www.julesverne.org) proudly announce
    THE OFFICIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE TO STEVE McQUEEN, welcoming to the stage the
    McQueen family, the cast of BULLITT and special guest stars.
    His son Chad McQueen will accept the Jules Verne Légendaire Award to the late Steve McQueen on his
    behalf. Celebrities confirmed in attendance: actress, costar and former wife Ali MacGraw, music composer
    Lalo Schifrin, actor and costar Robert Vaughn and many more!
    Steve McQueen would be 80 years old today. The heartfelt celebration will commemorate the King of Cool with a
    red carpet event, a Jules Verne Légendaire Award Presentation and a special screening of the iconic Bullitt.
    THE STEVE McQUEEN TRIBUTE EVENT is the 6th installment of the JULES VERNE LEGENDAIRE
    AWARDS, celebrating Legendary Movies and Stars. Previous celebrations have included Blade Runner, The
    Birds, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Some Like it Hot, and hosted honorees George Lucas, James Cameron, Tippi
    Hedren, Harrison Ford, Tony Curtis and many more!
    STEVE McQUEEN (1930-1980) American actor and race car driver, regarded as a Classic American Legend
    and best known for his roles in Bullitt, The Great Escape, The Thomas Crown Affair, Papillon and The Towering
    Inferno.
    BULLITT (1968) Starring: Steve McQueen, Jacqueline Bisset, Robert Vaughn, Robert Duvall. Music by Lalo
    Schifrin. Directed by Peter Yates. A Warner Bros. production.

    The Kick-off Event: Sunday November 7, 2010 @ 11AM - Hollywood Blvd
    The Jules Verne Festival and the City of Los Angeles are proud to announce the KICK-OFF EVENT to the
    STEVE McQUEEN 30th Anniversary Celebrations. On Sunday November 7th, four days before the Official
    Tribute event, the STEVE McQUEEN MOTOR PARADE will be led by CHAD McQUEEN, on the
    commemorative anniversary of his father Steve McQueen's passing.
    The Parade, led by Chad McQueen and organized with the City of Los Angeles and Councilmember Tom
    Labonge, District 4, will benefit the Jules Verne Educational Program, which serves the children of Los Angeles.
    It will start at 11AM at the intersection of Cole Ave. and Fountain Ave., run through Cahuenga and Hollywood
    Blvd. and end at the intersection of Highland and Santa Monica Blvd., where ROAD 66 ends and where the
    SQUARE to be named after STEVE McQUEEN will be inaugurated by Councilmember Tom LaBonge.
    In memory of Steve's passion for car racing and collecting, the PARADE will be exclusively open to JAGUAR,
    MUSTANG and PORSCHE owners.
