I just acquired a 1969 911t. The only key i have is broken and not sure if its all there? Can someone look at it and tell if its able to be repaired if not. How could i get a new one? here are a few pictures of the key and car. please give feedback?

I don't think you can repair that key. Best thing you can do is remove the ignition switch and take it to your local locksmith and have them generate a new key. Worst case is you'll need to purchase a new ignition unit - they cost around $50-$60 from Stoddard or such.
Good luck and nice find. Not sure what your plans are but I would bring all the trim back to chrome i.e. horn gills, front/back lens silver trim, etc..

Can i still tow the car with out the key? I got a truck and a trailer. any pointers on towing the car with out hurting anything? thanks!
the other option on the key is to ask Porsche.
IF you still have the original ignition lock in the car (most likely) and if you can prove ownership to Porsche (not hard) they will almost certainly be able to provide you with a "key code" as part of the original manufacturing specs. This can be given to any competent locksmith (i usually use one that Porsche outlet uses just in case) to create a new key with the original pattern.
needless to say once you have the key code it should be protected like a password that it is.

Yes - you can tow the car without a key. My 69T does not have steering lock so I'm assuming yours don't either.Originally Posted by basbal2540
Basbal, show your key to a lock smith. The factory code is still present on the side of the key and they can grind you a new one - (if they have the factory info).

he is an expert for our locks and keys. He has been at the LA lit show and big gatherings such as Hershey and always has a presence in the 356 community. If you call him give him the code he may be able to send you a completed key.
