WTB rear view mirror 1968 model

Hi everybody

I am looking for a good chrome rear view mirror for my 911S 1968??
If not, does anyone know where to get a new one?

Are you sure you are looking for an all crome mirror?? Wasn´t the 68S mirror black on the front like the 67S mirror and also a break-away type? The mirror in the link is not for a 68.

i thought the sierra madre reproductions were for '67? doesn't the '68 have a matte silver post with a black plastic mirror back, and a breakaway mount (required by feds)?

Yes that is the 68 one. I believe BMW 2002 has the same mirror.

Matte silver post, black backing... Photo isn't the best, and I don't really have anything better.

Yes that is the 68 one. I believe BMW 2002 has the same mirror.

I've been looking for a cross-reference for this mirror and we might have found one. The BMW part number is 51161853663 and shows to fit the 2002s and 320s up to July of 1977 according to this site. They show to be available for $122. Someone on this board has to have a 2002 that could check this out for us.

I have this one for $80 shipped to US - Could use a respray of the silver mount and a new glass, but overall it's in decent shape.

I have one w/ a broken glass and it almost looks impossible to replace the glass w/o leaving obvious traces.
