    With Winter Coming...

Going through some old photos and thought it might be interesting to post them for those folks who live where winter is just around the corner with snow likely. These are from my Anchorage, AK days (probably '88) showing an 83 SC with 5.5" mags carrying studded snow tires. These really worked well in the hard packed snow and ice, but the car could get high centered in deep snow.

This set up would work well for your long hoods too...just go find a big plowed parking lot and let er rip!

That is very cool! And very dedicated! How was the stock heat in Alaska?

    Mike:

It's been too long to remember much about the heat, but I didn't take long rides in it anyway. It started ok because it was in the garage, but I didn't leave it parked for long periods outside when it got really cold. I had a block heater in my other vehicles to keep the oil warm...but not in the 911. Most guys just put them away for the winter in AK, but on a sunny day, it was fun to take it out for a spin....(mostly less than 360 degree spins).
