Thread: What does this light up?

    What does this light up?

I have this cord thats been tucked underneath next to the ashtray and I'm not sure where it's suppose to go. Does it light up the vent console?

I stuck a bulb in it but it doesn't light up.

    Thanks!

There should be a light inside the ashtray which comes on when you open it. Is this not the wire for it?
It works when the side lights are on.

As stated above, that looks to be the light for the ash tray.

For HVAC Controls, my 1973 (which should be lighted the same way) has two lights at each end of the bottom (defroster) row that come on with the panel lights. The Blue light on the top right hand side comes on when I move the fan control to run the fan.

While I am not 100% sure, I think the red light on the top row left is reserved for the Webasto heater.

They can all be accessed from below. The bulbs are about $1 each.

My summary can be seen here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...el-lights.html

Thanks for the additional info and nice write up on Pelican.

Does the HVAC on a 69 911 light up? or was it only on later models? I'll poke around tonight but don't remember seeing indication that it does.

    Really?

I guess I need to clarify; I agree with the posters above saying "vent/HVAC"; It will only illuminate when the FAN is on in my 911.
