    911 engine #903256

I have this motor and discovered the other day that it has a 911 S distributor with oiler; any chance that the rest of the motor might have been converted to S` specifications....it also has a sprayed black to red fan housing....Cliff

No telling what might have been done to it over the years without more investigation. Have you removed the valve covers and checked the cams? That could tell you a lot. S cams and high compression pistons are the main hallmarks of the S. A check for domed pistons and large valve reliefs with a borescope is non-invasive and quick.
