    2010 L.A. Auto Show . . .

    Inspiration.

    This little tableau made me think about the only other old car at the show . . . The Oldest Porsche sold in the US . . .

    If I were running Porsche . . . I'd make every Engineer, Designer, Marketeer, and Salesman drive an old Speedster for a day. Then I'd tell them to come up with a Porsche that people can own and live with. Porsche is a business and has to make money. So if its profitable, I expect the company to build what ever the market wants, whether that's Boxters or Cayennes or Panameras or lawn furniture . . .

    But I'm still in love with Porsche's original idea --- to build a small, smart, high-quality car that you could enjoy driving. I'm waiting for them to build that kind of car again.
