    Gas tank RENU

I found gunk and rust in the gas tank of my 731/2. Has anyone had experience with gas tank renu or have any other suggestions to repair my tank. Also, I'm worried that it damaged my fuel pump. I live in Houston. Thanks

I just took mine to a radiator shop that also does gas tanks. They stripped and cleaned it, and then sealed it and pressure tested it. Some things are good for do it yourself--and some things are better left to folks with the right equipment. Cost a couple hundred dollars. The rust and gunk is unlikely to damage your fuel pump as it has to go through a fine mesh screen. But having to suck harder might damage it over time. Also clogs up your fuel filter. I had 3/4 gallon of fine rust powder in my gas tank after I drained it and let it dry out. It was amazing!
