POC Club Races + Time Trial finales at Willow Springs Raceway

    Title says it all.
I saw Mike Hammond's car in action, and a nice green/yellow 912 with no wing.
Also there was James Taylor with his '74 on 6 and 7 inch wheels!

Check out this car. A 1967 911 that the owner, Franz Bluschke, seems to be doing his own RSR evolution process on. Reminds me of Norbert Singer's skidpad RSR with the 19inch Can-Am wheels. The car went faster and faster with wider tires. The 19s were just the widest they had.

It is all steel, has just recently been converted to coil-overs and associated monoball type suspension bearings. It has 930 Aluminum rear trailing arms, so that short wheel base explains why he seemed to be hanging the tail out every time by.
The motor is a 2.8 liter, twin-plug, MFI. Running in the red group with no Turbo or GT3 engine.

I made a separate set for it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/max_911...7625531974578/

Sorry, I forgot my stopwatch. It was getting dark when I left so I did not get a look at the posted time sheets. I guess we will have to wait a bit until he recovers from all the fun. His car sure sounded great! :)

I just re-ordered the photos chronologically.

Thanks Max for the mention. It was good to meet you. That Hammond is so annoying. He's at least 8 seconds a lap faster than I am at my very best. His car is good, but I'm afraid that it's the driver who makes the difference. Jim

Well, as I just read in Velocity, he was part of the driving team who won the first Tribute to LeMans (which was at Willow, of course).
