ALMS / INDY in Baltimore for 2011.....ESREG hospitality?

Don't know if it's been discussed yet (been awol busy with work, etc and frankly it sucks reading about how much fun others are having with their p-cars while my search for a tub drags on) but i'm thinking we need to start talking about getting together for this event. Sept 3 or thereabouts IIRC.

Spoke with Baron about this and it is possible we might be able to do a hospitality tent on site if enough people are interested. It will cost $$ but I think we have a unique opportunity to have a chance at a good spot.

Talk amongst yourselves and lets see what happens!

For those that haven't been Baltimore is a beautiful city and very much worth the visit.

    Baltimore GP

This is a link for the Baltimore GP and a track map. Parking in a Porsche / Early S car corral could be very useful given the potential congestion of an ALMS/Indycar event downtown on a holiday weekend. Also, nice that the corrals are next to the ALMS paddock.

I'll be working with an ALMS GTPC team again this year and will be happy to help coordinate things for an Early S contingent gathering.

    Any interest?

Quick bump to keep this on everyone's mind.

Lee if your group needs free unskilled help I'm perfect for the job!!! What do you see as the options for a gathering there?

BTW, for those that won't be driving p-cars to the event the train runs right past Camden Yards.

    Eric:
Sent you a PM. The DC contingent is in.

    Couple of questions:

    1. Should we go ahead and buy tickets now and if so where?

    2. Let me know if you guys need money to reserve the car corral, I can help herd the folks down here to get you the funds required

Looking forward to seeing the Yankee hoards make their introduction to Charm City....you guys are just about on par with the midwest hoard.

Lee, Since you are working the race, sounds like you are going to need someone to drive the orange car down and display it in the prominent position that it is due....Well, I'm here for ya bro....and I promise not to bounce it off the rev limiter too much...teee heee...DM

Dave i got your message. This is still VERY early stages and this is the first real interest we're seeing. I'll call Chuck shortly here and see what we can do. I think the best option is for Lee to bring us all in as pit crew but absent that we'll see what's what!

I doubt we can dress everyone from the ESR in pit gear for the race, but it would probably make for a really impressive pre-race crew line up on the grid and some really quick pit stops. None of the details about the race are available yet in terms of locations, passes, parking, etc. I'll keep you posted when I know more. In the interim, thanks for the offers to drive my 911, co-drive the LMPC car, and use your 911 as the pace car at the race.
