    That slo-mo of Lindsey is incredible. She is so fluent in real-time ... then you watch the slo-mo and both skis are off the snow by 1-2 inches at each edge change.

    Gotta unweight and change to the downhill edge somehow, right Curt? Those shaped skis really have some pop these days. She sure looks fluid in those turns.

    I can remember back 20 or so years ago when getting a new set of Salomon slalom skis and ripping down a groomed run and being amazed at the pop they would give me back then. Edges would hook up - BAM! - unweight and transfer to the next downhill edge. Hook 'em up - BAM! - and back over to the next and rip it up for the rest of the run. If you did it right, the pop those skis would give me at weight transfer would almost throw me off balance.

    Whole different skiing experience today...

    Suffer through the first two minutes of Euro techno rock and then watch old school technique taken to it's highest level (or Phil and Steve's).

    Thumbs up

    Stenmark is probably my greatest skiing hero, that was great to see.

    We could never dream that skis could do what they do now. The technology is just brilliant, the movements so efficient, carving so easy, and good gawd are they fast through a course. It's all about clean carving, big angles, huge energy releases, and if you're good, no sliding whatsoever. Roll on, roll off, grasshopper.

    A little Porsche content to justify this thread's bandwidth

    First up is why sports car makers shouldn't design ski boots (and vice-versa)

    Early '70s Thule racks. Would I drive a 2.4S through slush and salt and click into 40+ year old Nevada/Grand Prix bindings with safety straps? Hey, I'm a poser, not an idiot!

    It's amazing that that Hart was able to sponsor a Formula 1 driver like Siffert. I love "Downhill Racer". Alot of Head product placement. Gertsch (sp)? or Besser bindings, too. QUOTE=CurtEgerer;548252]A little Porsche content to justify this thread's bandwidth ;

    LMAO. And the vintage Thule? Too cool.

    I just scanned this in from The Sporting News, Feb 1972. "Tyler Palmer, Clowning Ski Star". I read that Tyler is quite sick with Addison's disease

    Did you guys see Mikaela Shiffrin's run yesterday in Austria? 16 years old and takes a 3rd. Beat Lindsey by a second and a half! And she's still got a good 8-10 years to fine tune this thing

    Brilliant skiing, and she is so sweet. Another Vermonter with huge talent.

    Lindsey's not all that strong a slalom skier, although she has won. I expect that if she stays uninjured, Linsey can do great things in slalom too.
