Some fairly recent pics. Probably my favorite resort, Snowbasin. No shortage of snow that year

Dude, hard core. Arc-in' them Volkls. Looks like your outside hand is coming up to cross-block the next gate!

I've never skiied Snowbasin, but it looks fantastic. That's a ton of snow.

John, you've been there? Hintertux? That is so cool. It's a very exotic place and very remote. We were just blown away by the experience.

Apparently the snow here is really good. Heidi says so, but I haven't been up there yet.

We got comp'd on lift tickets and lunch for Snowbasin several years ago. Hadn't even known about the place but it was free so we gave it a shot. It was a small resort for the locals. Then the Olympics came to town and the Downhill was at Snowbasin. They dumped $$million$$ into the place. They installed gondolas and a lodge that rivals anything at Vail or Aspen. The free lunch tickets (which we assumed would be typical ski lodge food) turned out to be a 5-star buffet including prime rib, seafood, etc!! There's no crowds because it's an hour drive from SLC - everybody still goes to Park City, Snowbird, etc. So its basically all locals again, except they got these fantastic facilities now. And the DH course is still there, including the start house. First time I ever tried to ski a World Cup DH course. Holy crap! Right out of the start there is this long steep, steep drop that gets you up to warp speed within a few seconds. We were just casually skiing the course and I still had to stop twice to catch my breath.

Yes, Jens, about ten years ago, my friends from Munich go there often.
Love that gondola ride when you go over the edge.
