    New member...Need help on buying a 1973 911S Targa

I know this subject has been discussed much on values of cars. But maybe this forum can help in a major purchase for me.

A friend has a nice 1973 911S, low miles, 2nd owner. Its a targa, silver (936) but was painted black, friend had car stripped of black and is ready for silver again.

Question of value is in the beholder I know this but just help with a ballpark price please. I plan to see the car on Tuesday it's been awhile in seeing the car. No rust at all the stripping showed no body work or bondo or wrecks.

The car totally original and needs only a new carpet...it would be a once in lifetime for me, but have no idea what to start at...I have seen many prices, no plans to flip just enjoy.

    regards

So the knowledge base on the forum is something I respect and I do know a little about long hoods and rust I currently own a 1973 911 T same car but a T.

It depends so much on condition and originality but ballpark 40-95,000.

MHO ...you better be buying in Cheap !(Like $0) ......Unless you are a Guy with talented hands and a great home garage , you are starting a very expensive walk through the "Porsche Cucumber Patch" .....few men exit the "Patch" walking like they entered . You don't want to be "You" on this one , you want to be the guy who buys it from "You" . There are Great Cars at Great Prices right now ......find one Done ! ...and enter There .
