    Peter Gregg's "Specials"??

Several years ago a friend in town had what he termed to be a Peter Gregg "Special" 911. Can't remember for sure, but think it was a '73S that was tweaked in some cosmetic and performance ways and had a quasi-Brumos paint scheme. I could now kick myself for not buying it when he sold it for what now would be a ridiculous price. I'm pretty sure it was a Brumos created deal where these cars capitalized on Gregg's racing success and a nifty way to market the cars for nice prices. I haven't read anything about these cars and wonder if anyone knows about them, their whereabouts, background, how many were done, etc.???

Yep, thanks Chuck! I'm pretty sure this is the one that belonged to my friend in Dallas for many years.

It is now in New Jersey and is a very cool car. I remember them being loaded 73S Sunroof Coupes with RS flares and 2.7 spec engines. Sport seats, AC. I know at least one had ST type flares a white car. They are very cool.

About 10 years ago there was a '74 Carrera 911 on ebay with both US and Euro MFI motors that was said to once belong to Gregg. I almost bought that car... I still have the ebay listing on my pin-up board. AutoAtlana is currently selling Gregg's old 916.

There was one at RRIII out in the parking area south of the paddock. I talked to the woman that was driving it and she said it had been her dad's car and when he died she and her sister inherited it. It was a cool car and she didn't seem to know what they were going to do with it. I don't know why I didn't take a picture of it.

Do you at least have a pic of the woman? Maybe that's why you have no pic of the car :-0

I Remember talking to her about the car and she was going to have it freshened up but had not decided if she was going to sell it.

Hey Jack, I remember working on that car when it lived in Dallas. I think the owner's first name was Michael (was Mead his last name?) I think he bought it from an east coast auction house for the ridiculous sum of $20,000 or so. When he first brought it out to me he showed me tons of paper work authenticating the origin of the car. I maintained it for several years that he had it, hell, he used it as a daily driver in Dallas! I think that eventually caught up to him (and the car) and Roy Smalley did some repaint work on it, looked good after that!
