There, customer's requests could be filled to equip their 911 S-T for specific racing requirements."

I can't remember if this '470 code delete' was discussed before in this thread, but it would seem to be a potential item on the 'cardex' that could be found in factory records, and help to identify a car that has been found to have ST modificatiions but are not 'Factory' or well documented cars. I know the cardex records are suspect and missing for many cars, but the '470 delete code' is just another interesting piece of ST history.

Does anyone have a factory document showing or listing '470 delete'?
Gib, seeing that article from Bruce Anderson brought back some memories for me. I was there that day as my Uncle brought the cars there. My Uncle owned an original ST from the Werks factory. On this day I got to help dry out the track by driving a 911 on it for about an hour. Sweet day! Here's some more pics from that day. -Scott L

    Thumbs up Morespeed 'exercise day'

    Hey Scott,

I found my photos... It was pre-Thanksgiving week (Monday or Tuesday) 1995 ... So much for about 10 years ago........

I'll post them once they're scanned.

    Cheers

    Hey Scott,

I happened to be at Sears Point on a foggy, dreary Tuesday before Thanksgiving about 10 years ago for a Morspeed 'excerice day' ....... It wasn't this day with the ST you posted, but still I just couldn't believe my eyes... and good fortune....

I think I still have the photographs somewhere....
    Cheers
I have quite a few photos from the day I was there with all the cars 959,936,934,ST 917's. Maybe we should start another thread with your and my photos from those events. Bruce Canepa had some of his cars there also. I remember he had a 917there also. Are you sure we weren't there on the same day? I'll never forget it. It was amazing!

The photos in this thread look to be from two different Morspeed test sessions circa-1995. Scott's photos with the 911ST and 934 are from Laguna Seca, while Chuck's photos are from Sears Point.

Max, I wasn't at either of those tests, but I heard the 917/30 raced by Mark Donohue in the 1973 Can-Am at Laguna, and I've heard the car in Chuck's photos (917/30-004, once the property of the late Dave Morse, now owned by the family of the late Matt Drendel) raced by the late Olaf Lang at the '98 Monterey Historics, and Jim Torres in 917/30-"006" at RR-III (I seem to have a mental catalogue of every time I see a 917/30 raced...). It's not what I would call "Can-Am Thunder" like the Reynolds big-blocks. The 917/10's and 917/30's combination of cooling fan and big turbos make more of a huge "whooshing" sound -- the impression is more visual, as the 917/30 produces extraordinary acceleration in comparison with just about any other sports-racer or prototype I've ever seen. I hope that you have the opportunity to see one of these cars actually raced (as opposed to demonstration laps) one of these days. The 917/30 is an exceptional machine.

    Nine17 is absolutely right ...
I was of course at Sears Point that morning in '95, and mislabeled my former post.

And all the tubo/Porsches I saw were not at load as there their competition............... A big weeerrrr/wisssshhhh ... and sometimes BANG and flame after getting off the accelerator.
