Thread: SPORT SEAT ORIGINAL 8mm PHILLIPS HEAD CHROME SCREWS DISCOVERED...

DISCOVERED! NOS SPORT SEAT ORIGINAL 8mm CHROME PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS...

After over 15 years of searching I recently discovered a very limited supply (24) of NOS original 8mm chromed head screws for the Sport Seats. They even have the tiny white plastic spot...

I have seen (4) different types of original 8mm screws on Sport Seats including Chrome slotted head, Polished Chrome Phillips head, Semi Polished Chrome Phillips head (like these) and gray anodized Phillips head... The ones being sold at Stoddard have a larger head then the original.

Tony at Autobahn said that he has no access to the correct screws and that the ones he uses have larger heads and are not chrome...

The Chrome Phillips Head Screws are 22mm long and the head diameter is 12.7mm +/-. I originally thought that the chrome was semi-polished but after cleaning a few the chrome brightened up! I guess that 40 years of rattling against 24 other screws dulled them a bit...

They are ultra expensive @ $80 per seat but where else are you going to find NOS Sport Seat parts?

    24 are sold!!! NONE left!

    Sorry guys

Shaun, I'd be interested in buying some of your better ones, enough for two sport seats, for use in case of emergency. Thanks, Bill M

Why would you have a ton of these? Are you sure that they are the 8mm for Sport Seats and not the 6mm for standard seat? Usually the screws are bent and/or stripped because the Sport Seat only has one recliner which results in extreme stress on the 2 back screws that carry all of the weight... Plus the cost of chrome.. But if you have a nice set then probably will work...
