At least he slowed down to 90MPH once he got on the residential surface streets. He's got that going for him

Early last year I witnessed a young guy blasting through I-95 traffic tag the corner of a Cadillac. No helmet, just sneakers, shorts and a tank top... it wasn't pretty. Darwinism at work, with cleanup provided by county services.

I did 131 (GPS indicated) coming out of Death Valley three years ago on my BMW K1200GT. It was still pulling but I backed off as the air coming over the wind screen hitting my helmet set up a high frequency vibration blurring my vision...

The "K" bikes will haul ass! I had a loaner once (a lowly 1100) and found myself passing everyone on the interstate just running in a "cruise mode" sweet spot that the bike seemed to fall into with seemingly little effort. I looked down and saw an indicated 90mph. After that it wasn't nearly as much fun because the bike just didn't like being held to 65mph and it was actually a chore to keep it there.

    Ordered a "6" yet?!

I love the line! "With an engine output of 118 kW (160 bhp) and a maximum torque of 175 Newton meters, the 6-cylinder engine provides superb propulsion in all conditions."

    Best,

No "6" yet. I may never sell my K 1200 for all the reasons you've noted...

Saw and sat on the 6 at the Long Beach MC show. Even had a chat with David Robb about the design, he was standing there when I got off it. A very handsome and efficient design but the mid $20K starting price is off putting...

    Cheers Tom...

The S1000RR is an awesome machine but I really desire one of the HP2 Sports. Not as fast but it's a beautiful piece of carbon fibre/billet aluminum sculpture....
