    New Member, Finally?

I know the intrinsic problem with opinion based posts - but I'm closing in on my first Porsche and wanted to get some advice from the expects before pulling the trigger.

I'm looking at a '70 911E (Coupe, non-sunroof) with S trim. It's what many would consider a nice driver (which is what I plan on doing with it). That said, I'm not looking for a show worthy collectable, but I do want something that's worth investing in.

Anything specific to the 70 E's that I should look for and/or avoid? Anything mistakes specific to this era Porsche that are commonly made?

Looking forward to joining the "team" and thanks in advance for any help.

Take it to a renown shop specializing in early Porsches and have it professionaly checked stem to stern (body, electrical, motor) - othere wise know as a PPI (pre-purchase inspection). It will be the best money you ever spend. Plenty of knowledgeable people here who can recommend a good shop. You need to update your profile with your location. Good luck.

There are no issues of concern specific to the '70E. Follow the advice of the preceding posts. Welcome to the board!

If you're looking for a car that will hold value or appreciate, originality is what brings the most money in the current market. E's typically have a premium over T's. IMO, this is due primarily to the motor and induction system. Look for a car with the original motor and MFI intact.
