Is it possible for a 1972 Serial Number to be produced in 1973?

Hi, I'm rather new at this and am looking to buy my first longhood.

This car on the 'bay has a serial number of 9112101895 and the production date is punched as 2/73. Is this possible? Or is something amiss? Also the engine number is listed as 7327446. Don't all 911 engines begin with "6"

    Thanks

John, E series Model Year (MY) got produced from August 1971 until July 1972.
As far I know, 2/73 on the decal should indicate US-only DOT spec. dates.

Here is the DOT label in question, and a correct DOT label for comparison.
The label in question is a new replacement label, and obviously made incorrectly.

7327446 looks more like a transmission # (the 732 portion) but the 7443 does not seem to fit my data.

Something is very wrong with this picture!!! The car definitely is a 72 produced before 9/72... No way they built a 72 body in 1973!

That DOT label looks like it was a EURO car, and then imported in 2/73? Anyway, I'm guessing from the EBAY ad that it was St Peter's '73RS Clone, built on a Euro '72.

Like I said, the label is a replacement. The same as you would get today if you needed to replace an original. Whoever punched the holes got the date wrong (I'm assuming it was PCNA).
See the AG vs the KG of the original? See the part # in the right lower side.

    I agree. A ‘typo’.
Makes you wonder about anything that comes out of PCNA.
